Melted butter, to grease
255g (1 1/4 cups, firmly packed) brown sugar
250ml (1 cup) vegetable oil
3 eggs, lightly whisked
375g (3 cups) coarsely grated green zucchini
375g (2 1/2 cups) self-raising flour
100g (1 cup) walnut halves, coarsely chopped
150g (1 cup) whole dried pitted dates, coarsely chopped
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Ceam cheese icing

250g cream cheese, at room temperature
80g (1/2 cup) icing sugar mixture
2 teaspoons finely grated orange rind
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
